Amy Taylor, Psy.D., HSP, is an independent, licensed psychologist who practices in Lexington, Kentucky. She received her degree from Spalding University and completed her internship at the Department of Veteran's Affairs in Huntington, West Virginia. She has been in private practice for ten years and specializes in treating trauma and attachment-based disorders, with a focus in dissociative disorders. She is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy by the Linehan Institute and has taught multiple workshops on the use of DBT to reduce suicidality and improve daily functioning. She is a Certified Consultant for the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and teaches fundamental through advanced subjects, such as the relationship between hypnosis and memory, the use of hypnotic phenomena, methods of elicitation and deepening, and ethics as related to hypnosis. In 2021, she co-led a four-day advanced workshop titled Hypnosis for the Treatment of Trauma, Attachment, and Dissociation with Louis Damis, PhD. She is trained through Level 3 in Deep Brain Reorienting and is an active member of both ASCH and the International Society of the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD). She began working with survivors of organized and extreme abuse in 2018 and is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and community awareness on the reality and prevalence of OEA. When she's not in the office, Amy spends time riding and competing her horse in upper level show jumping. She is also passionate about animal welfare and previously volunteered as the foster and adoption coordinator of a non-profit animal resuce organization. Finally, when time allows, Amy enjoys rock climbing and drawing.
