Jeff Todahl is an Associate Professor in the Counseling Psychology and Human Services Department at the University of Oregon. He is Co-Founder and Director of the Center for Childhood Safety and Wellbeing and The 90by30 Initiative. He is Director of the University’s graduate program in Couples and Family Therapy, has served as Director of the UO’s Center for Healthy Relationships, and as CPHS Interim Department Head.
Dr. Todahl’s research centers on violence prevention and community engagement as a vehicle for reducing child maltreatment and other forms of interpersonal violence. Dr Todahl co-authored the Greenbook Initiative grant application that funded Lane County as one of eight U.S. national demonstration sites, including a collaboration with the U.S. Department of Justice to create a streamlined domestic violence intervention system (Greenbook Initiative). He is currently measuring child abuse and neglect rates in Oregon (Oregon Child Abuse Prevalence Study), partnered with the University of Kentucky and 24 U.S. universities to evaluate sexual assault bystander prevention effectiveness, and leads a developmental evaluation of Protect Our Children – a sexual abuse prevention effort in Oregon and Siskiyou County, CA., and is in a leadership role with Lane County-specific efforts to reduce child maltreatment (The 90by30 Initiative & The Lane County Violence Prevention Coalition).
Dr. Todahl also has worked extensively in the local community, including service on the Board of Directors for Womenspace, Ophelia’s Place, and the Trauma Healing Project and on the Kids First Safe Alternatives Center Advisory Committee. He contributed to the Oregon Safety-Focused-High Conflict Parenting Plan Workgroup, the Oregon State Regional Judicial Training on Domestic Violence and on the Womenspace Community Engagement Project, and the LC Prevention and Wellness Fund Advisory Committee.
