Connie Johnshoy-Currie, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in California. Dr. Johnshoy-Currie provides clinical treatment and consultation services since licensure in 1986. She is a Brainspotting (BSP) certified provider, Approved Consultant, and Approved BSP Specialty Presenter. She is an EMDR certified provider and Approved Consultant through EMDRIA. 2025 Level 1 and 2 trained in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR); also trained in EFT and CISM. Dr. Johnshoy-Currie earned her doctorate in 1985. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient services and was the Chief Clinical Officer with a provider organization.
Dr. Johnshoy-Currie is a developmental holistic psychologist with decades of experience and training in working with complex trauma and dissociation. She has taken extensive EMDR specialty trainings, numerous BSP specialty trainings. She has been a training assistant for all levels of BSP trainings and many BSP specialty trainings. Her depth of training and clinical experience in the treatment of children and adolescents has enhanced her work with young insider dissociative parts. She is passionate and committed to ongoing individual consultation growth and development for herself and for her consultees.
Dr. Johnshoy-Currie has developed innovative Brainspotting Specialty Workshops including the Playful Metaphor Series, Brainspotting and Inner BlindSpot Work, Dissociative Identity Phenomena and Inner Parts Work, and the 6F’s of Trauma Inner Healing Work. She co-developed bilateral healing music with Renaissance Lutenist, Phillip Rukavina.
Dr. Johnshoy-Currie provides monthly International Networking Consultation Groups in Brainspotting (2008) and EMDR (1998). She offers specialty consultation groups for working with children and adolescents, creative integration of BSP and EMDR, and for clinicians working with dissociative identity phenomena, traumatic injury, attachment wounding, and parts. She offers a humanitarian consultation group for therapists working with persons in the Ukrainian-Russian war. She loves to provide individual consultation for professional development and certification in BSP and EMDR.
