Nicole Crone, MSW, LISW, is a licensed clinical social worker, trauma therapist, and Clinical Director at a residential treatment center for adolescent boys in Ohio. She is the founder and owner of Serenity Trauma Healing Center. This private practice provides trauma-informed care for individuals and families navigating the effects of complex trauma, grief, and chronic stress. Nicole holds a Master of Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) at the University of Kentucky, where her capstone research focuses on developing a trauma-informed identification model to improve recognition of complex PTSD in children and reduce mislabeling in clinical settings.
Nicole’s clinical expertise centers on trauma, particularly the intersections of childhood adversity, therapist identity, and countertransference. She is passionate about bridging clinical practice with personal narrative to illuminate the inner experiences of clinicians who are both practitioners and survivors. Her scholarly personal narrative, When Her Story Echoed Mine, explores the emotional and ethical complexities of being a trauma therapist while healing from one’s own trauma. This topic reflects her broader commitment to therapist wellness, reflective supervision, and destigmatizing clinician vulnerability.
Nicole has presented nationally on suicide prevention and youth trauma and is actively building a speaker platform focused on trauma-informed systems of care. She combines academic inquiry with real-world experience to advocate for compassionate and culturally responsive approaches in the treatment of complex trauma. Her work is deeply influenced by the belief that healing is not a destination but an ongoing, relational process—and that clinicians, too, deserve space for that journey.
