Anne Gill, PhD is a psychotherapist practicing in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA. After serving as Co-Director of the Center for Parents and Children in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh for 22 years, she decided to return to direct clinical practice in 2025, and currently provides individual, couples, and family therapy. In 2003, Anne completed her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology and served as a clinician and clinical supervisor for several randomized control trials and community implementations of the Family Check-Up, a trauma-informed and evidence-based program the promotes parent and child wellbeing and optimizes family functioning. Her approach to service provision is strength-based, collaborative, and dignity-affirming. In addition to clinical work, Anne has decades of experience as an educator with expertise in instructional design, clinical training, and mentoring clinicians and graduate students and Anne offered coursework on family systems, motivational interviewing, and trauma during her tenure at Pitt. In addition to authoring several journal publications, Anne co-authored the 2nd edition of Everyday Parenting: A Guide for Professionals implementing parent-skills-training programs. With interest and expertise in instructional design, Anne worked closely with model developers on the development of intervention manuals, web-based curriculum for clinicians, and trainer instruction programs for the Family Check-Up and Everyday Parenting programs. Since 2020, Anne has been collaborating with the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (C3P) to provide evidence-informed victim/survivor-facing support and psychoeducation services to enhance engagement and support services for victim/survivors seeking help with experiences of online sexual exploitation and abuse.
