University of Oslo, Modum Bad Psychiatric Hospital
OSLO, Oslo, Norway
Ingunn Holbæk is a recognized trauma therapist in Norway who has established an Out-patient Trauma Clinic at Modum Bad, where she has served as the leader, clinical director, and is currently researching the treatment of complex dissociative disorders. She completed her Cand.psychol. education at the University of Oslo, Norway, in 2001 and became a specialist in clinical psychology with trauma treatment as her specialty in 2006. Currently, she is concluding a PhD project in which she uses qualitative methods to investigate the experiences of change among individuals with complex dissociative disorders (CDD). She has interviewed patients who also participated in an RCT on stabilizing group treatment and found paradoxical outcomes between quantitative and qualitative measures. She is therefore focused on identifying which changes matter most to patients and on finding better ways to measure those changes. She has undertaken numerous advanced training courses in trauma treatment, including DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting), EMDR, sensorimotor psychotherapy, and structural dissociation theory. Ingunn has published several chapters in Norwegian books on trauma treatment and has three scientific articles to her name. In addition, she has been responsible for the translation of a professional book into Norwegian and served as the editor for a Norwegian book on the treatment of complex PTSD. She has also taught about trauma treatment for over 20 years throughout Norway. In addition, she has presented both clinical and scientific projects at international conferences. She has participated in most ESTD conferences since their inception. She also holds a part-time position at the University of Oslo, where she teaches psychology students.
