Susan Pease Banitt, LCSW owns a coaching and consulting business focused on trauma therapy and her niche areas of expertise: satanic ritual abuse, government-sponsored mind control, and trafficked individuals, as well as spiritual and intuitive coaching of self-identified spiritual emergence.
Susan completed her Master of Social Work at Simmons College School of Social Work in 1991 and did her clinical internship within the Harvard Medical System, where she was encouraged to pursue holistic healing modalities such as yoga and meditation. She holds certifications as a Kripalu yoga teacher (200-hour), a Karuna Holy Fire Reiki⢠Master through the International Center for Reiki Training, and in Past Life Regression Therapy with Dr. Brian Weiss, MD. Her spiritual studies include ten years in Advaita Vedanta under Babaji Bob Kindler, Celtic shamanism with therapist/shaman Shannon Kelly, and training with the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids.
She is the author of two award-winning books: The Trauma Toolkit: Healing PTSD From the Inside Out (Quest, 2012) and Wisdom, Attachment and Love in Trauma Therapy: Beyond Evidence-Based Practice (Routledge, 2018). Her newest book, Women Therapists on Healing: 11 Personal Essays About Overcoming Trauma publishes on February 3, 2026.
Susan has been a frequent speaker at ISSTD and other conferences over the years and has appeared on numerous podcasts including Therapy Chat and Systems Speak. She has testified before state legislatures and the UK Parliament on behalf of disenfranchised individuals, and has served on numerous boards, including the Oregon chapter of the National Association of Social Workers and Street Yoga.
She can often be found online countering misinformation and educating the public about trauma through her social media platforms, including TikTok (@TheLightworkerWhisperer), X (@suepeasebanitt), and YouTube. Her current passion lies in exploring how large language model AI can ethically and effectively support trauma therapy.
