Stephanie A. Johnson obtained her BA in psychology in 1991 from Beloit College, her Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois @ Urbana Champaign in 1996, and received LCSW in 1997. Ms. Johnson’s professional career includes work in the following settings: private psych hospital, 15 yrs in adolescent residential and 20 plus years in private practice. She is the owner of a small group private practice, Clarity Counseling & Mediation Inc, in Rockford Il. Most recently in 2024 she was part of the Purdue research project on the use of Finding Solid Ground (FSG) Curriculum in a group private practice setting and has been using this group program in her private practice setting.
Stephanie’s clinical focus is primarily assisting individuals with PTSD and the dissociative diagnosis in meeting their personal therapy goals. Ms. Johnson is passionate about providing quality services and aiding others in their journey to do the same. Towards this end Ms. Johnson is a member of EMDRIA, an EMDRIA approved basic EMDR trainer, provides advanced EMDR training and consultations on getting started using EMDR in the treatment package with dissociative and CPTSD clients. Ms. Johnson facilitates a local trauma therapist network meeting. She is a member of DBR and a member of ISSTD having received her ISSTD Advanced Certificate in Complex trauma and dissociation. As well as being a long standing member of NASW. Ms. Johnson in 2024 was part of the Purdue research project on the use of Finding Solid Ground (FSG) Curriculum with groups in an outpatient setting.
