Tyson D Bailey, PsyD ABPP is a board-certified clinical psychologist who has been working with individuals experiencing chronic suicidal ideation and behavior for over a decade. He completed his internship and postdoctoral training at the Fremont Community Therapy Project (FCTP) under Laura Brown, PhD, who taught him the importance of maintaining connection and honoring autonomy when evaluating suicide risk. He completed his master's and doctoral training at Argosy University, graduating in 2011, and immediately began working in private practice. Dr. Bailey is an owner of Spectrum Psychological Associates, a trauma-responsive group practice in the Greater Seattle area. He is a licensed psychologist in Washington State in good standing. He is a previous supervisor of the dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) program at FCTP. He provides therapy and forensic assessment services to individuals who have experienced trauma. Dr. Bailey has taught seminars and published on trauma, dissociation, and forensic assessment issues. Most recently, he was a co-chair for a task force that successfully submitted Professional Practice Guidelines for the Assessment of Trauma in Adults to the American Psychological Association. He taught suicide assessment and management as a supervisor at FCTP for more than three years. He was also invited to present a webinar for Division 56 of the American Psychological Association on the assessment and management of suicidal ideation. Further, he was previously a certified trainer for the Assessment and Management of Suicide Risk. Dr. Bailey has been a teacher since he was 16 years old and is passionate about collaboratively sharing knowledge with others.
